Monday 15 February.

You will be met at London’s Heathrow Airport and escorted to your bus, before transfer to your hotel where a ‘brunch’ will be served. Following a period to settle in, there will be an afternoon tour featuring the Tower of London (shown below). Famous for housing the Crown Jewels, the Yeoman Wardens (often called Beefeaters), the Ravens and the Bloody Tower, this amazing fortress/palace/prison has some stunning stories to tell. The ancient tower (actually a series of towers) has been the scene of beheadings, murders and imprisonment.

Sunday 21 February – A unique Jerusalem Day

First a visit to St Peter in Galicantu (shown below) (where Peter denied Jesus 3 times – the church is built over the dungeons where it’s believed that Jesus was held before his trial.) Walk to Mount Zion and the traditional site of the Upper Room…and then a walk through the Old City to St Mark’s, which is almost certainly the actual site of the Last Supper, The Upper Room and the first meeting place for believers…make sure you see the battered photos in the porch where the 1st Century Graffiti found in the room below the church gives evidence to this!
The Upper room can be visited if the Syrian Patriarch is in residence and no doubt he will serve you sweet tea and sweets in his throne room for a chat and a welcome..…The rear part of the Upper Room is today walled off as it is used as a crypt for the burial of the Patriarchs, there are steps within this part leading to the “downstairs.” Visitors are not allowed in these areas. The day is completed with a visit to the Memorial to the Children at Yad Vashem.

Next we visit the Davidson Centre with its superb dynamic of the Temple and the Southern Steps of the Temple where Jesus overturned the temple rogue traders. If time permits, a walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel – a small flashlight and some old shoes (there’s water in the tunnel) required….skirts/shorts are best if you don’t want to get wet!
